I am still new to WordPress so forgive me stumbles.

I have lived in Michigan most of my life with a brief stint in Indiana and four years of high school in south Texas.  I LOVE to travel although I’ve done little…maybe 25 states and a touch of Canada and Mexico.

I am the mother of four teenage girls and happily married for 24 years.

I have worked professionally in public relations, grant writing, outreach, and as an elementary teacher, a middle school teacher, a high school teacher, an elementary principal and am currently seeking a new challenge (i.e. paycheck.)

The inspiration to set up this page came from my involvement with the Mid-Michigan Word Gatherers Ionia County area writing group. The history of the group is told here by one of the members, James Maynard. Although the piece was written awhile ago, very little has changed with the group. Many of the WordPress and Tumblr pages I follow are of MMWG members. The group meets Thursday mornings 9:30 a.m.-12 noon at the Sozo Coffee House on M-66 on the north side of Ionia and all area welcome. The group plans to start an evening meeting time, as well. The group held its first annual “Gathering of Writers” day Nov 1, 2014 and plans to hold a write-in during February 2015.
